Vascular Surgery Fellowship

The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Boston Medical Center (BMC) offers a two-year fellowship. Each year, three fellows receive hands-on training in both open and minimally invasive vascular surgery, along with opportunities for research and academic learning. During their time at BMC and through rotations at the VA Boston Healthcare System and BMC Brighton, a community hospital, fellows have exposure to the full range of vascular surgery cases.

Vascular Surgery Research

The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, which works closely with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, is very active in clinical research. Multiple research projects are always ongoing, leading to publications in high-impact journals and presentations at national meetings by faculty, trainees, and medical students. Division faculty are invested in developing new treatment options and frequently participate in clinical trials. This includes the landmark BEST-CLI trial, with results published in The New England Journal of Medicine. Clinical trials currently underway include evaluation of new stents and new technologies for dialysis access.
